A tribute to local craftsmanship

Was founded in Totana, where pottery has been part of the landscape for centuries. There, clay continues to speak through the hands. It is no coincidence that ‘human’ and ‘humus’ share the same root: both words can be traced back to origins and the deep connection between people, the material and the place they inhabit.

Each light fitting is born at the intersection of the designer’s vision and the craftsman’s expertise. One imagines the outcome; the other understands the material. Each piece carries inherited knowledge into the present, preserving the memory of the earth from which it comes.

Clay is memory. Light is presence.

Together, they give rise to a landscape of shapes, shadows and textures that change as the day progresses. Light reveals what the material silently conceals.

Clay speaks of earth, water, the potter’s wheel and fire. Of a craft passed down from generation to generation, where each piece retains the marks of the hands that shaped it and the beauty of its individuality.

In light, ceramics find a new way of inhabiting space. When unlit, they evoke the earth and the potter’s craft. When lit, the light reveals their textures, softens their forms and allows the shadows to take shape.

The author

Design begins with observation. With understanding the material before transforming it, recognising the knowledge inherent in the craft and allowing it to infuse the creative process. At Pott Project, each collection arises from the meeting of a contemporary vision and the experience of those who know clay, its rhythms and its language.

Experimentation is part of the journey, while keeping grounded in respect for ceramics and for those who work with it. New ways of bringing clay and light together expand the material’s possibilities without losing its essence. Each light fitting is the result of that serene balance between intuition and experience, between innovation and tradition, between the designer’s sensibility and the craftsman’s expertise. A collaboration that keeps inherited knowledge alive and carries it into the present.
